Beirut - Saba:
Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem on Sunday praised Yemen, calling it "a beacon of jihad and chivalry, and a unique model that has been able to humiliate America and Israel."
In his speech during the massive Ashura march commemorating the tenth of Muharram in Beirut's southern suburbs, the Hezbollah Secretary-General said, "Defense will continue because we believe that liberation is a duty, no matter how long it takes and how many sacrifices are made. The Israeli enemy continues to attack and occupy the five points, and we cannot surrender to this aggression."
Sheikh Qassem affirmed that "the flame of resistance will remain alight and will not be deprived of future generations," declaring, "We will protect what the people have sacrificed for. This resistance is the resistance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and the resistance of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the master of the nation's martyrs. We are faithful to the covenant and we will continue."
The Hezbollah Secretary-General continued, "We are determined to continue the resistance and uphold the trust. We will not be part of legitimizing the occupation in Lebanon, and we will not accept humiliating normalization. Our choice is a Husseini choice, and this raging people does not accept humiliation and surrender."
Sheikh Qassem explained that "the ceasefire agreement has been violated by the aggression with thousands of violations," noting that "the threat of a new agreement does not make us accept surrender. Rather, the aggression must be told to stop." He emphasized that "resistance is one of the solutions, and the continued existence of Israel is a real crisis that we must confront."
In addition, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah declared that "the Zionist enemy must complete its implementation of the agreement's provisions as a first stage. It must implement the agreement, withdraw from the occupied territories, cease its aggression, and begin reconstruction. When that happens, we are ready to discuss national security, the defense strategy, and how to strengthen our country." He noted that "we have enough flexibility to agree."
Sheikh Qassem said, "We are not concerned with the American equation of 'kill or surrender,'" declaring, "We adhere to our rights. We are the men of the field, and between the basket and humiliation, humiliation is beyond our reach."
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah added, "In the name of Hezbollah, we are prepared for both options: peace, building the country, and exerting maximum cooperation for renaissance and stability. We are also prepared for confrontation and defense." He emphasized that "we are an invincible people and will not give up our dignity and rights."
The Sheikh emphasized, "Do not think that we are a group without power and effectiveness, but it is enough for us to be honored that we, Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, are united in every confrontation." He expressed surprise at the demand to hand over the missiles, "which are the foundation of our defense capabilities."
On the other hand, Sheikh Qassem said that Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei "has shadowed us with his courage, faith, support, and guidance," and he saluted the Iranian people for their resilience and preventing the Zionist enemy from achieving its goals.
Sheikh Qassem also addressed the people of the Gaza Strip, saying, "You, along with your resistance, are among the most honorable people in the world and the best people on earth. Palestine will remain for its people, and we will remain by your side."
Sheikh Qassem praised Yemen, saying it is "a beacon of jihad and chivalry, and has set a unique example that has humiliated America and Israel."
The Secretary-General also noted that "the large turnout this year, in the councils, streets, guest houses, and lamentations, was very remarkable and considered the best among previous years."
