US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that there is a realistic chance of reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip within the next week, noting that the Palestinian Hamas movement has expressed a positive attitude toward the US proposals.
Trump said in press statements: "There is a possibility of reaching an agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza by next week."
He explained that the response Washington received from Hamas to the truce proposal was "positive," referring to the US-led initiative to end the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
