Yulia Zhdanova, the new head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, stated that the Russian side is confident that our opponents in Europe are aware of the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine.
Zhdanova told Sputnik: "We have no doubt that our European opponents are aware of the root causes of the conflict."
According to her, this is precisely why they are acting in the opposite direction, blindly attempting to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia: they continue to militarize Ukraine, ignore the violations of the rights of Russians and ethnic minorities in Ukraine, and insist on the necessity of Euro-Atlantic integration for the Kyiv regime.
She added, "In other words, as we have previously stated, they are deliberately escalating the conflict."
According to her, the Russian side is paying great attention to communicating to the international community the true events that took place in Kursk Oblast during the invasion by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries.
She noted that Western representatives in the OSCE are ignoring evidence of the use of Western weapons against civilian infrastructure and the facts of torture.
She said, "We see that the Kyiv regime and its Western sponsors, who are directly involved in organizing the invasion, are doing their utmost to conceal the war crimes committed against the civilian population of our country."
Zhdanova expressed her hope that a peaceful settlement with the obligatory elimination of the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine will be possible.
According to her, Russia has handed over hundreds of pages of evidence of crimes committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to international organizations, but "everything is being covered up."
As Russian diplomats have pointed out, the trend of international bodies covering up war crimes committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues.
