Iranian authorities announced today, Monday, the final death toll from the Israeli aggression that began on June 13 and lasted for 12 days, confirming that 935 people were martyred, including 38 children and 102 women, some of whom were pregnant.
Speaking at a press conference, Asghar Jahangir, spokesman for Iran’s judiciary, stated that the aggression, carried out with direct support from the United States, led to the shedding of nearly a thousand Iranian lives. He described the attack as a repetition of a historical mistake by the Zionist entity, which, he warned, will “undoubtedly pay the price.”
Jahangir emphasized that Iran’s armed forces responded decisively, and noted that the involvement of the U.S. in the conflict reflects Israel’s weakness, calling it an admission of failure by the occupying entity.
He further pointed out that the Israeli strikes targeted peaceful nuclear facilities, in violation of international law, despite Iran’s membership in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and its declared commitment to peaceful nuclear energy.
On the domestic security front, Jahangir said the judiciary acted swiftly following the attacks, implementing strict measures against traitors, agents, and spies. He confirmed that the aggression included not only military strikes, but also internal destabilization attempts via hostile networks aiming to spread chaos and destruction—efforts he claimed were thwarted by the coordinated actions of Iran’s security and judicial authorities.
As part of its response, the judiciary has issued urgent directives to form special prosecution branches across various provinces to pursue those involved in espionage and internal collaboration with the enemy. The authorities have also begun tracking hostile online accounts linked to Israel, in cooperation with specialized security agencies.
This marks one of the deadliest direct attacks on Iranian soil in recent history, with widespread condemnation expected to grow across international and regional platforms.
