Gaza – SABA:
The Director of the Medical Relief Society in Gaza, Dr. Mohammed Abu Afash, warned Tuesday of the ongoing and escalating collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip due to the continued genocide, closure of crossings, and the ban on humanitarian aid.
Speaking to “Sanad” news agency, Abu Afash said: “The health situation in Gaza is extremely dire, with many hospitals out of service and a complete depletion of medical equipment, supplies, and medications.”
He explained that the disaster worsens daily with the growing number of injuries caused by Israeli strikes targeting the health infrastructure and public services.
According to Abu Afash, approximately 250 wounded people are admitted to Gaza hospitals daily due to Israeli bombings that also target aid distribution centers and shelters.
He emphasized that all hospitals in northern Gaza — including Kamal Adwan, the Indonesian Hospital, Al-Awda, and the Noor Al-Kaabi Cancer Hospital — have been completely destroyed and rendered inoperative.
Abu Afash stressed that the destruction of Noor Al-Kaabi Hospital, which specialized in cancer treatment, and the European Hospital in Khan Younis in the south, has left around 11,000 cancer patients without access to treatment or medical follow-up.
He warned, “This could lead to the death of many patients who already suffer from a severe shortage of medical supplies and medications.”
