Kyiv - Saba:
A group of Ukrainian conscripts rebelled on Thursday at a recruitment center in Ukraine, prompting special forces and police to intervene after the recruits refused to follow orders and were arbitrarily sent to certain death in the fighting between Kyiv's forces.
According to Russia Today, the clashes began when the recruits protested inside a center in the capital, Kyiv. They raised their voices and confronted recruitment officials. They then attempted to close the doors and barricade themselves in a room inside the building, using sticks to defend themselves.
Ukrainian special forces did not hesitate to quickly intervene to break up the rebellion and restore control.
This incident came amid escalating popular protests against the policy of forced conscription, which targets men of all ages and sends them to the front lines, amid a growing sense of the futility of war, which prolongs the suffering of civilians in vain.
