Abdulghani Al-Qatma, Director General of the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in Mahweet Governorate, reviewed the progress of work on the Al-Jaradi District Water Project in Al-Rujum District and monitored the water services provided to citizens.
Engineer Al-Qatma listened to a briefing from the Deputy Project Manager, Hamid Al-Maqbali, and the technicians about the project's components, including a water well located in the Al-Marsaba area, two pumping stations in Beit Al-Nufi and Beit Al-Murair, and the main distribution tank in Jabal Shaher in the Rahban area, which serves more than 25,000 people spread across more than 40 villages, distributed across the Al-Jaradi sub-district and parts of the Al-Ruhani, Al-Azki, and Al-Bishari sub-districts.
They addressed the most significant challenges, including the deterioration of generators, the inefficiency of solar systems, and the increased demand for water due to population expansion.
The Director of the Local Water Corporation confirmed that the visit to the Beit Al-Jaradi water project in the Ar-Rujum district was part of a field visit to evaluate the corporation's projects.
He praised the efforts of the project management and the achievements made, particularly the expansion of household connections and the increase in the amount of water produced. He directed the development of a timetable to address water loss, which amounts to 23 percent, in coordination with the branch management and to benefit from the model experiences of successful branches.
Engineer Al-Qatma explained that the Corporation had submitted technical studies prepared by the project management through the governorate and the ministry to the supporting entities to secure the necessary funding for the project's expansion and ensure the sustainability of its services. He commended the project management's efforts in improving performance and developing the water infrastructure in the region.
He was accompanied by the Corporation's Branch Director.
