Dhamar - Saba:
The Minister of Agriculture and Dhamar Governor today launched a project to construct three strategic water reservoirs for rainwater harvesting aimed at boosting water reserves in the Dhamar Basin and halting the depletion of groundwater resources.
The project - implemented through a partnership between the ministry, local authorities, and the Water Resources Authority with community support - includes building reservoirs with a total capacity of 185,000 cubic meters.
The minister emphasized this represents a crucial step toward securing sustainable water sources and enhancing water and food security while praising Dhamar's efforts to stop random well drilling and calling for expanding this model to other governorates.
In recognition of his water protection efforts, the minister honored the Dhamar governor during the launch ceremony.
