Dhamar - Saba:
Dr. Radwan Al-Rab'ei, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, and Dhamar Governor Mohammed Nasser Al-Bukheiti visited on Tuesday the Model School for Technology and Applied Sciences in Dhamar to review its activities and preparations for the upcoming academic year.
During the visit, which included Shura Council member Abdu Al-Alawi and Engineer Hadi Quray'a, Chairman of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities, Minister Al-Rab'ei and Governor Al-Bukheiti inspected the school’s facilities, including laboratories, training workshops, and classrooms.
Minister Al-Rab'ei emphasized the school’s importance in providing a qualitative model for educational advancement, keeping pace with modern educational institutions. He stressed the need for concerted efforts to support the school and equip it with further resources to fulfill its mission of preparing skilled graduates capable of meeting development demands and labor market needs.
Governor Al-Bukheiti noted that the school represents a pioneering initiative adopted by the local authority to present an advanced model of education, even with limited resources. Despite its modest capabilities, he highlighted the school’s positive outcomes, evident in the educational and skill levels of its students.
He underscored the importance of supporting the establishment of similar schools across districts to develop the education system in line with global standards, ensuring graduates are competitive, productive, and innovative to meet future challenges.
School Director Abdul Salam Al-Dhawrani provided an overview of the school’s role in nurturing and qualifying innovators through a scientific and educational vision that prepares graduates to contribute to future development. He explained that the curriculum combines practical knowledge with the standard government syllabus, supplemented by additional enrichment components.
Al-Dhawrani also reviewed ongoing preparations for the next academic year, including the competitive admissions process targeting top-performing students from other schools.
