Baghdad - Saba:
The Iraqi government condemned the "painful policy of starvation" being faced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, calling for the entry of aid.
Iraqi government spokesman Bassem al-Awadi said in a press statement: "It has become clear, without a doubt, that the Israeli occupation has ignored all humanitarian and legal considerations, and is now using the blockade and the prevention of humanitarian and food aid as additional tools to perpetuate the killing of Palestinians."
Al-Awadi called on all Arab and Islamic countries, the international community, and international organizations and institutions to assume their role and exert maximum pressure to deliver relief and food supplies, in light of the occupation's intransigence and insistence on a comprehensive war and the creation of famine among the besieged population of Gaza.
