Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba affirmed on Wednesday that his country will work to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Japanese news agency, the Prime Minister’s Office stated in a release that during his meeting in Tokyo with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, Ishiba emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for delivering aid to Gaza. He also expressed his respect for UNRWA and its efforts in supporting Palestinian refugees.
For his part, Lazzarini expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government for its role in improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperating in support of Palestinian refugees.
