Gaza - Saba:
The government operations room for emergency interventions in the southern governorates of Gaza has affirmed that the Israeli enemy's continued systematic starvation policy against approximately 2.4 million citizens, its control over humanitarian aid, and its transformation into a tool for political and military blackmail, constitutes a complete abrogation of humanitarian work and its international principles.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the operations room described what is happening in the Gaza Strip as "an unprecedented crime in human history."
The room emphasized that the militarization of aid and the criminalization of those in need under the pretext of inspection and scrutiny only lead to more pain and suffering.
The operations room noted that the scenes of citizens crowding and scrambling to obtain food and humanitarian aid are heartbreaking, at a time when the Israeli enemy has closed the crossings since last March, preventing the entry of food and medicine, leading to a famine that has claimed the lives of many children and the elderly.
It renewed its call for the urgent, permanent, and unconditional opening of the crossings, and for the immediate entry of aid accumulated at the crossings, ensuring its fair and transparent distribution to all citizens.
The room called on the free people of the world and all international institutions to stand firmly, pressure the occupation, and activate international tools capable of opening the crossings and allowing the entry of aid, ensuring human dignity and preserving humanity, in accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law.
