The World Health Organization (WHO) General Assembly decided on Monday to raise the flag of the State of Palestine at its headquarters, alongside those of other member states.
According to Sindh News Agency, the resolution was approved by 95 countries, while four opposed it: "Israel," Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Twenty-seven countries abstained from voting.
In his speech before the General Assembly, the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations in Geneva, Ibrahim Khraishi, stated: "This decision is symbolic—a single step—but it proves that we are part of the international community contributing to global health issues."
Khraishi expressed hope that Palestine would soon obtain full membership in the WHO and all United Nations institutions.
Meanwhile, the "Israeli" ambassador described the decision as illogical, accusing the organization of politicizing its work by including such a resolution.
It is worth noting that it would be more appropriate to reconsider the membership of the Zionist entity in international organizations, following 19 months of its genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people and its commission of war crimes.
