Sana'a - Saba:

The Imam Al-Hussein School team in Sanhan District won the 1446 AH Summer Schools Open Football Championship in Sana'a Governorate, organized by the Youth and Sports Office and the Youth Mobilization Unit in the governorate.

The Sanhan District team won the championship title after defeating the Imam Ali School team in the At-Tayal District, 5-1, in the final match held today at the Al-Thawra Sports City Stadium in the capital, Sana'a.

In conclusion, Ali Hadban, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the Sports Sector, emphasized the importance of organizing such sports tournaments to develop the skills of summer camp students in various sports, including football.

He pointed out the Ministry of Youth and Sports' leadership's support for summer camp students to continue their creativity and develop their skills in various sports, emphasizing that the ministry will spare no effort in supporting sports clubs and their members at the governorate and district levels.

For his part, Faris Al-Kahali, Undersecretary of the Sana'a Governorate Governorate, praised the Youth and Sports Office's sponsorship of the summer camp sports tournament and its encouragement of students to play football to develop their physical and athletic skills.

He stated that the summer courses, with their religious, scientific, social, cultural, and sports programs and activities, will contribute to strengthening the faith identity of participants and promoting Quranic culture among them. He noted the sportsmanship displayed by the players as they competed for the championship title.

At the closing ceremony, attended by the Governor's Deputy, Abdulghani Dawood, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office, Abdulmohsen Al-Sharif, explained that the 45-day sports tournament, under the slogan "Knowledge and Jihad," featured 148 teams representing the governorate's districts, districts, and sectors.

He pointed out that the tournament, which was held in a league format in each district, saw the teams qualify first at the district level, followed by the district level and sector level. Four teams qualified at the sector level: Bani Hoshaish, Outer Haima, Khawlan Al-Tiyal, and Sanhan.

Al-Sharif explained that the qualifying rounds between the four teams took place, with Khawlan Al-Tayyal and Sanhan qualifying for the tournament's semi-finals. Meanwhile, Outer Haima and Bani Hashish competed for third place, with Outer Haima winning.

Following this, the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Youth and the Sana'a Governorate honored the Sanhan District team with the first-place cup and gold medals, and the Al-Tayyal District team, which finished runner-up, with silver medals, trophies, and third place. The tournament's judges were also honored.

The Outer Haima and Bani Hashish teams were also honored with the Ideal Team Cup.

The closing ceremony was attended by the Director of Al-Tayyal District, Hilal Mu'idh; the Deputy Directors of the Education Sector in the Governorate, Sultan Al-Hakami and Muhammad Khamis; the Director of Sports Activities in the Governorate, Captain Nabil Al-Namoos; the Education Sector Director in Sanhan District, Ahmed Nasser; the Youth Directors of the Bani Hashish, Al-Tayyal, and Outer Haima Districts, Malek Al-Khawli, Abdulaziz Al-Shami, and Ahmed Al-Mikhlafi; and a number of officials and sports leaders.
