Hamas on Wednesday affirmed that the shooting attack near the town of Bruqin, west of Salfit, in the northern West Bank, which resulted in the death of a female settler and the injury of two others, represents a "natural response to the ongoing crimes of the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, and against prisoners and holy sites."
Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday that "the heroic operation reflects the true pulse of the West Bank and the spirit of resistance rooted in the Palestinian people, who reject injustice and aggression."
Hamas added that "resistance to the malicious plans of the enemy aimed at displacing the Palestinian people and expanding settlements is a legitimate right," calling on the people of the West Bank to escalate painful operations against the enemy and its settlers and to unite behind the option of resistance and steadfastness.
Earlier, a female settler was killed and two other settlers were seriously wounded when their vehicle came under direct fire at close range on Route 446, near the settlement of Beit Hanoun. Ariel, north of the West Bank, in an operation carried out by a Palestinian resistance fighter before he withdrew from the scene.
