London - Saba:
British Minister of State for the Middle East Hamish Falconer has strongly criticized Israel's handling of humanitarian aid destined for the Gaza Strip, emphasizing Tel Aviv's obligation to adhere to the International Court of Justice's interim measures.
During a parliamentary session on Wednesday addressing Gaza's worsening humanitarian crisis, Falconer demanded an immediate end to restrictions on aid entry, calling the obstruction of relief "appalling and inexcusable." He noted the rotting of tons of food at the Gaza border while civilians face starvation, condemning Israeli ministers viewing aid as leverage.
Falconer stated the UK's condemnation of ongoing raids causing Palestinian civilian deaths nightly and called for an end to the escalation. He affirmed the UK's support for the ICJ's independence and its provisional measures in South Africa's genocide case against Israel, stressing Israel's legal duty to implement them.
The report highlights the 71-day blockade on Gaza, preventing entry of aid, medicine, and food, coinciding with renewed military action and the ongoing "genocidal war." Bakeries have reportedly suspended operations for 41 days, and famine threatens over two million residents facing bombing, massacres, and a "war of extermination."
