In a move to strengthen the integrity and effectiveness of Yemen's judicial system, Attorney General Judge Abdulsalam al-Houthi has launched a surprise inspection plan targeting major prosecution offices.
The initiative, announced on Monday, aims to assess compliance with legal procedures, address irregularities, and enhance public trust in the prosecution authority.
The inspection plan, discussed at a meeting of the Public Prosecution Inspection Authority, will focus on evaluating: legality of pretrial detention and temporary release, handling of seized evidence, timeliness of investigations, file management, reception of citizen complaints, overall judicial discipline, inspection committees will concentrate their efforts on larger primary prosecution offices within the capital and key provinces.
The initiative emphasizes improving judicial performance and safeguarding public rights and freedoms.
