The Jawf Juhran Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association was officially launched on Sunday in Juhran District, Dhamar province.
During the inauguration ceremony, the association’s bylaws, financial reports, and administrative and oversight reports were reviewed and approved. Additionally, a board of directors and an inspection and auditing committee were elected.
Dhamar Province Deputy for Development Sector, Ali Atef, emphasized the vital role of cooperative associations in advancing agricultural and developmental sectors. He noted that the establishment of the Jawf Juhran Association aligns with the directives of the revolutionary leadership and efforts to revitalize cooperative work, harnessing community potential to achieve sustainable development.
He urged the association’s board to leverage available resources to enhance agricultural development, particularly in expanding grain and legume production, stressing that improving the agricultural sector is crucial for resilience, reducing import costs, and achieving self-sufficiency.
For his part, Juhran District Director, Engineer Hashem Al-Warith, stated that the Jawf Juhran Cooperative Association will be a key contributor to development, highlighting the importance of cooperatives in utilizing available facilities to advance agriculture and implement service and developmental projects that meet community aspirations.
Meanwhile, Ismail Salah, Director of Unions and Associations at the Office of Social Affairs and Labor, emphasized the significance of this step, noting that cooperatives are a cornerstone in boosting the economies of many nations.
Representative of the Bunyan Development Foundation in the Central Regions, Abdu Al-Harib, added that the association’s establishment reflects the awareness of Juhran’s residents and their steady commitment to community initiatives that foster development.
