Gaza - Saba:
The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that in light of the ongoing war of genocide and aggression waged by the Zionist enemy army against the Gaza Strip, more than 2.4 million Palestinians are facing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, as it continues to implement a policy of genocide and daily killing of defenseless civilians, targeting people, stones, and trees, without any deterrence from the international community.
The office confirmed in a press statement on Sunday that the Zionist enemy's insistence on closing the crossings to and from the Gaza Strip and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid is deepening the worsening crisis at a time when the Palestinian people are suffering from a systematic starvation policy. The Zionist enemy forces are preventing food and medicine trucks from entering, leading to rising rates of hunger and malnutrition, particularly among more than one million children and the elderly.
The office pointed out that the Zionist enemy continues its policy of depriving the population of water and destroying water wells, making it difficult for civilians to access water, leading to a stifling water crisis that threatens the lives of the Palestinian people, given the lack of potable water sources, the spread of disease due to pollution, and the lack of basic health services.
It added that it also continues to prevent the entry of cooking gas and fuel in general into the Gaza Strip, causing the shutdown of bakeries and vital facilities and paralyzing the transportation sector. This has made movement within the Strip nearly impossible and exacerbated the suffering of patients and wounded who need to reach hospitals and medical centers.
"We are facing a complex humanitarian catastrophe, the severity of which is escalating as this stifling blockade continues, amid international silence that encourages the occupation to pursue its criminal policies without deterrence," the Office added.
It held the Zionist enemy and the US administration fully responsible for these ongoing crimes against civilians, calling on all countries of the world to pressure the occupation to stop these crimes, open the crossings, and allow aid into the country immediately before it is too late.
