Nablus – SABA:
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday evening the martyrdom of Wisam Ghassan Hassan Ishtayya (37 years old), who was shot by Israeli occupation forces in Salem village, east of Nablus. The occupation withheld his body after his death.
Earlier, Israeli forces stormed the village, besieging two homes in its eastern part and opening live fire. This led to the martyrdom of Qusai Nasser Mahmoud Nassar (23 years old), whose body was transferred to Rafidia Government Hospital, and the injury and arrest of Ishtayya, who later succumbed to his wounds.
Additionally, a 62-year-old man was injured by live bullets and was evacuated to the hospital by Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics.
Adli Ishtayya, head of the Salem Village Council, told the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) that Israeli forces besieged two homes while sounds of heavy gunfire were heard, coinciding with the arrival of additional military reinforcements. Clashes broke out between locals and the occupation forces, who fired live bullets intensively at residents and their homes.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its teams retrieved the body of martyr Qusai Nassar from one of the besieged houses and transferred it to the hospital.
In parallel with the ongoing genocidal assault on Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated attacks in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, leading to the martyrdom of around 1,000 Palestinians and the injury of nearly 7,000 others, according to official figures.
