SANA'A November 05. 2022 (Saba) - The Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and the General Organization for Slaughterhouses and Meat Markets organized on Saturday inaugurated the second phase of the national campaign to protect livestock and combat the slaughter of females and young livestock.

The second phase of the national campaign was inaugurated by organizing the first national symposium for the protection of livestock.

In the symposium, Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs Dr. Hussein Maqboli stressed the importance of the campaign, which comes within the framework of economic trends to achieve food security and self-sufficiency in agricultural production and livestock and their development.

He pointed out that the convening of such seminars embodies the correctness of the economic orientation towards self-sufficiency from the many and multiple national resources, and the enhancement of food security from agricultural and animal wealth and resources.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged the rational management of all resources and employing capabilities in the most optimal way to achieve ambitions.

At the opening of the symposium, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Vice-Chairman of the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai pointed out that the implementation of these campaigns comes within the framework of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council to advance the livestock sector and enhance its role in food security.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Local Administration Dr. Qassem Al-Humran pointed to the need to integrate roles and come up with visions and proposals to serve the activities and programs of the second phase of this campaign.
