SANAA, Feb. 12 (Saba) - Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdelmohsen Tawoos on Wednesday met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)'s new representative in Sanaa Jean-Nicolas Beuze.
The meeting dealt with aspects of cooperation and coordination between the Council and the Commission to ensure the joint work continuity in order to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and those affected.
In the meeting, Tawoos pointed to the necessity of expanding UNHCR's activities to meet the needs of the displaced, especially in emergency cases that require urgent intervention.
The UNHCR's representative confirmed the Commission's commitment to cooperate coordinate with the Council and make efforts regarding the issues of the displaced and promoting humanitarian work.
