Yemen, Germany discuss economic cooperation

SANA'A, Jan.08(Saba)- Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi welcomed on Saturday the German government's investments in Yemen.

This came during a meeting gathered al-Arhabi and Representative of German Economy in Riyadh Andreas Seiter, who discussed issues related to enhancing the economic cooperation between Yemen and Germany.

Al-Arhabi and Seiter also touched upon the possibility of holding an economic meeting with participation of private sector institutions in Yemen and Germany, as well as issues related to the promotion of trade and economic cooperation frameworks between the two countries.

In this regard, al-Arhabi noted the importance of strengthening the bilateral cooperation areas between the private sector institutions in both countries.

For his part, Seiter confirmed that German private sector institutions are interested in exploring the promising investment opportunities in Yemen.

On another hand, al-Arhabi met with the UNDP's mission in Sana'a and reviewed with them issues of cooperation between Yemen and the UNDP and means of boosting them to serve the common goals.

He praised the level of the existing cooperation between the two sides , noting to the UNDP's contributions to support the development in Yemen.

The UNDP's mission confirmed the keenness of the Programme to continue to provide all aspects of available support for Yemen.
