SANAA, Feb. 11 (Saba) - Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor met Sunday with Minister of Public Works and Roads Ghaleb Mutlaq, who briefed him on the activities of the ministry and its affiliated institutions.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the Ministry's plan for the current year and the programs and projects included in the areas of construction, paving and maintenance of roads at the level of the capital Sanaa and the rest provinces of the Republic.
He explained that the total cost of projects to be implemented by the Road Maintenance Fund amounts to more than 18 billion funded by the internal components of the total of nine billion and external to the extent of $ 100 million provided by the World Bank.
The Minister stressed that it is expected that these projects, which will be implemented through the General Roads Corporation, will be completed most of the implementation during the current year and the remaining part in the first quarter of next year 2020.
The Prime Minister commended the great efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and its affiliated institutions at the national level.
He pointed to the importance of projects that will be implemented by the Fund and the corporation in this difficult period experienced by the Yemeni people due to the Saudi-led aggression coalition' war waged in the country and their blockade imposed on it.
He noted the positive effects expected on these projects for the benefit of society and facilitate the movement of individual and collective transport as well as the transport of goods within the targeted provinces
