A Turkish diplomatic source announced on Monday that Ankara is aware of the parties' statement regarding the need for dynamics in the Ukraine negotiation process, suggesting that this will likely lead to a ceasefire.
Sputnik quoted the source as saying, in response to a question about Ankara's position on the recent statements issued by Moscow and Kyiv, "Yes, we have seen these statements."
He added, "We expect this to lead to progress in the negotiation process and a ceasefire."
On Sunday, a source in the Russian negotiating team confirmed that Ukraine had proposed holding a new round of talks next week.
A source in the negotiating group confirmed to Sputnik the accuracy of the information regarding the proposed talks, explaining Russia's readiness to hold talks with Ukraine and its hope to set a date soon with Kyiv.
This comes after Volodymyr Zelensky stated that National Security Minister Rustam Umarov had proposed holding a meeting with Russia.
