The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mawlid, met on Wednesday with the players, technical, and administrative staff of the national youth football team at the Olympic Center in Sana'a, where the team is currently based.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Mawlid expressed his happiness with the diverse composition of the team, representing various Yemeni provinces, as a new testament to the Yemeni people's steadfast commitment to unity and national identity.
He emphasized that the team's stars reflect Yemen's bright image and prove themselves to be the nation's hope through their determination to overcome challenges and represent Yemen with distinction.
The minister praised the discipline and commitment of the national team players to the training program, which contributes to achieving results that honor Yemen and embody the will of its youth and athletes while showcasing their talents. He added that the ministry will exert all efforts to provide an environment conducive to success.
Al-Mawlid urged the players to uphold sportsmanship and noble values that reflect the ethics and wisdom of Yemen’s people, reaffirming the ministry's keenness to support and care for the national youth team, as well as other national teams, within available resources.
Attended by the Undersecretary of the Sports Sector, Ali Hadban, the team director, Nabil Al-Jabni, appreciated the ministry’s role in sponsoring the team’s training camp and mobilizing necessary resources to ensure its success, which will reflect positively on the players' performance in upcoming competitions.
Currently, the national youth team, led by coach Mohammed Al-Nafei, is holding an internal training camp in Sana'a in preparation for the First Arabian Gulf Cup for Football, hosted by Abha, Saudi Arabia, from 28 August to 9 September.
