Ibb - Saba:
Ibb Governor Abdulwahed Salah inspected on Wednesday the progress of the ongoing project to establish an electric power generation station in the province.
Accompanied by Shura Council member Nabil Al-Habishi and Ibb Electricity District Director Engineer Ali Al-Mushki, the governor reviewed the completed and remaining work to finalize the project, which aims to serve the province and support the national grid in addressing the severe central power deficit.
Engineer Al-Mushki explained that the main substation will operate with a capacity of 3,000 kilowatts at an implementation cost of $80,000.
Additionally, Governor Salah visited the site of the Shaban (Al-Raas) station in Ibb, where land is currently being prepared to establish a solar power generation station with a capacity of 2,500 kilowatts in its first phase, at an estimated cost of $4.1 million.
During the visit, the governor emphasized that these two projects are part of the province’s efforts to enhance energy infrastructure and meet citizens' needs.
He highlighted the importance of these stations in supporting the national grid and addressing the country’s electricity deficit, which will improve service quality and boost economic development opportunities.
He noted that the two projects reflect the government’s and local authority’s commitment to providing essential services to citizens, embodying a comprehensive vision toward achieving energy self-sufficiency.
Governor Salah stressed the need to adhere to the specified timelines and standards for completion, expressing hope that these projects will contribute to providing sustainable energy to support all developmental sectors in the province.
