Occupied Qud – SABA:
Israeli Army Radio has revealed the details of the killing of one of its soldiers, Sergeant Asaf Zamir, this Friday morning in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
According to the broadcast, at exactly 8:00 a.m., a Palestinian resistance fighter fired an anti-tank missile, directly hitting a tank belonging to Battalion 53 in Khan Younis.
The report stated that one crew member of the tank was killed, while three others were injured, two of them critically.
It added that during the evacuation of the wounded and while air and ground cover was being provided for the operation, another explosion occurred in a second tank — likely caused by another anti-tank missile or an IED — wounding the company commander inside that second tank, who was later evacuated to a hospital.
According to the army’s investigation, the assailant emerged from an alley toward the tank. Although the tank crew spotted him, the explosion occurred instantly, leaving them with no time to respond.
