North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met with Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova, who is on a working visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
The agency reported: "On June 29, at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Party, Kim Jong Un received Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova, who is visiting our country as the head of the Russian Culture Ministry delegation on the occasion of the first anniversary of the signing of a new treaty between the DPRK and the Russian Federation."
The agency noted that Kim Jong Un emphasized the importance of exchanges in the field of culture and arts during the meeting, and emphasized the need to expand cooperation between Russia and the DPRK in these areas, noting that this strengthens the friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.
Earlier, Lyubimova stated that she had arrived in the DPRK on a working visit. She laid wreaths at the Liberation Monument in Pyongyang, commemorating the Soviet soldiers who sacrificed their lives to liberate Korea during World War II.
Later, she stated that the Russian and North Korean Ministries of Culture had signed a cooperation plan between the two countries for the period 2025-2027.
She said, "We have signed a plan for cultural cooperation between the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Culture of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for the period 2025-2027."
