The Containment and Control Room Team to Combat Acute Watery Diarrhea held an expanded meeting on Sunday at the Ministry of Administration, Local and Rural Development.
Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban and Undersecretary Ammar al-Hareb attended the session. They reviewed last week's progress and positive field results.
Attendees emphasized intensifying efforts, enhancing support for ongoing initiatives, and expediting sewage network extension projects.
The attendees focused on prohibiting agriculture within 200 meters of sewage drains. The meeting urged relevant ministries and entities, including Electricity, Water, Interior, Local Administration, the Capital Sana'a, and the Water and Sanitation Corporation, to fulfill their responsibilities.
They also stressed that local leaders and farmers in Bani al-Harith district must cease using wastewater for irrigation due to severe public health risks.
