Acting Taiz governor Ahmed al-Masawa and Executive Director of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit Shihab al-Shami on Sunday oversaw a training workshop titled "Knights of Development" in al-Qabaita district in Lahj governorate.
The workshop, organized by the Unit in collaboration with Bunyan Development Foundation and supervised by Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed al-Madani, aims to enhance community awareness of volunteering and expand development initiatives.
The seven-day course targets 30 "Knights of Development" from al-Qabaita, focusing on promoting voluntary work, activating community initiatives in local development, fostering social solidarity, and encouraging community responsibility to build a model for participatory sustainable development.
It also seeks to establish sustainability through community participation and create qualified local cadres to lead development efforts.
Al-Masawa and al-Shami highlighted the workshop as a crucial step in activating community work and development, emphasizing the pivotal role of initiatives in advancing service and development realities.
They stressed the importance of genuine partnerships between government entities and local communities to achieve comprehensive development and self-sufficiency, noting the workshop's role in empowering agricultural associations and building effective local development leadership.
