Tehran - Saba:
Ali Larijani, advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, confirmed on Sunday that former U.S. President Donald Trump was aware of the Zionist regime's aggression against Iran and had planned for it, but deceived his own people with his statements.
The Iranian Mehr News Agency quoted Larijani regarding the 12-day war: "Trump was fully aware of the Zionist regime's aggression against Iran and had planned for it, but he misled the public with his remarks. A day before the Zionist attack, he announced that negotiations with Iran were ongoing. However, after the Zionist aggression, he declared that he had given Iran a 60-day deadline—and today is the 61st day—proving his deceit."
Regarding the Zionist regime's attempts to contact and threaten Iranian officials, Larijani explained: "During the recent war, I received a call telling me that I had 12 hours to leave the country, or my life would be in danger, and they would send me to my two friends, the martyrs Bagheri and Soleimani."
He added: "I knew where the call was coming from, and I gave them the response that a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court—Benjamin Netanyahu—deserves."
Larijani pointed out the misconceptions held by the Zionist regime and the U.S. about Iran and its people, stating: "These countries thought the Iranian people would quickly distance themselves from the government during this war, but the people proved them wrong."
He continued: "The occupying regime intended to target the Leader of the Revolution after attacking the heads of the three branches of government, but they failed in this plan as well."
Larijani emphasized: "At the beginning of the war, Iran's military strength was inferior to that of the Zionist enemy, and the first Monday of the war was a critical day. However, our armed forces shifted the balance."
He noted that the Zionist regime and the U.S. ignored the cultural and civilizational considerations of the Iranian people.
Regarding Iran's response to U.S. aggression, Larijani said: "Six Iranian missiles with 400-kilogram warheads struck the U.S. base in Qatar. We know exactly what happened, but let Trump enjoy his delusions."
He added: "We must reconsider nuclear negotiations and cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."
On the role of the IAEA chief in the aggression against Iran, Larijani stated: "Rafael Grossi has become one of the losers in this war, and he himself paved the way for it."
He concluded: "Three European countries backed the Zionist enemy in the war, while China and Russia recognized the limits of America's power."
