Philadelphia - Saba:
One person was killed and two others were injured after an explosion destroyed several houses in the northern part of Philadelphia on Sunday, according to U.S. authorities.
The Philadelphia Fire Department reported that firefighters responded to an explosion incident. Daniel McCarty, the department’s executive director, stated that the explosion caused severe damage to about five houses, including the collapse of some structures.
The incident resulted in one fatality, while two others were rescued and taken to the hospital.
McCarty confirmed that one of the injured is in stable condition, while the other is in critical condition.
"Our top priority is ensuring the stability of the surrounding houses and preventing further danger," McCarty said.
He added, "This will be a prolonged operation for the Philadelphia Fire Department, likely continuing throughout the day."
