The UN Security Council will hold an open session tomorrow, Monday, on "the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue."

The Assistant Secretary-General for Middle East Affairs, Mohamed Khaled Khiari, is scheduled to brief Council members on the Secretary-General's latest quarterly report on the implementation of Resolution 2334 on settlements.

The resolution, issued on December 23, 2016, demanded that Israel cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
