Taiz - Saba:
Al-Raheeda Customs Center, in cooperation with the Anti-Smuggling Unit in Taiz Governorate, successfully foiled three smuggling attempts involving various goods.
One of the thwarted operations involved the smuggling of a quantity of cigarettes being transported on the backs of camels accompanied by several porters. Another attempt involved human medicines being smuggled by a group of carriers used by smuggling gangs.
Additionally, the center prevented the smuggling of a quantity of imported garlic, which is banned from import, concealed inside a transport truck.
The center’s director, Muhammad Rashad Al-Jabri, explained that the successful interceptions came as a result of tight coordination between various concerned entities and careful surveillance of smuggling routes.
He emphasized the importance of joint efforts to curb smuggling in order to protect the national economy and promote local products and goods.
Al-Jabri affirmed the center’s commitment to fulfilling its national duty in intercepting all kinds of smuggled and prohibited goods.
He also praised the efforts made in thwarting the three smuggling operations in a single day, highlighting the heightened awareness and security vigilance among all entities involved in combating smuggling at Al-Raheeda Customs Center—an essential front line in national defense.
