Bishkek - Saba:
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Sunday that the West may be beginning to realize that it will not be able to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.
In talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kolobayev, Lavrov said, according to Sputnik: "We have very close relations in all areas, and this is especially important, especially in light of the current extremely difficult and radically changing international situation, in which we are witnessing an unprecedented confrontation between our country and the West, which has once again decided to wage war against us and inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, using the Nazi regime in Kyiv as a weapon."
Lavrov emphasized that "the West has never succeeded in this, and it will not succeed this time. Perhaps they are beginning to guess this."
During the meeting, Kolobayev indicated that his country supports efforts to preserve memory and prevent distortions and falsifications of facts about the Great Patriotic War.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Kyrgyzstan, where he will meet with the country's President, Sadyr Japarov, and Foreign Minister, Jeenbek Kolobayev, on June 29 and 30. He will also participate in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
During his meetings with Kyrgyz partners, he will focus on regional security issues in Central Asia, including intensifying joint efforts to counter threats from international extremist and terrorist forces and external attempts to destabilize the region.
