Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that his country does not seek Ukraine's surrender, but rather recognition of the situation that has developed on the ground.
Putin said on Friday during the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, according to Sputnik News Agency: "We are not seeking Ukraine's surrender, but rather insist on recognizing the facts that have developed on the ground."
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the situations in the conflict zone in the Middle East and in Ukraine are fundamentally different.
He pointed out that "the tragedy taking place in Ukraine is the result of the actions of those who are not prepared to adapt to global changes."
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced earlier on Friday that Russia calls for the establishment of a multipolar world order in which everyone agrees and finds appropriate solutions in difficult circumstances.
The Russian president also noted that "Russia's principled position is that the security of some countries should not be ensured at the expense of the security of others."
"Look what they did... They sneaked up on us in the Kursk region. First, they lost 76,000 people there," Putin said during the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
