An analysis of stock exchange data conducted by the Russian news agency RIA Novosti showed that the ruble was among the top three currencies that gained the most against the US dollar in May.
According to the analysis, only the Ghanaian cedi and the Taiwanese dollar outperformed the Russian ruble against the US dollar.
In the last month of spring, the ruble rose against the dollar by 4.34 percent, while the Ghanaian cedi rose by 37.66 percent and the Taiwanese dollar by 7.42 percent.
The list of the top five currencies that gained against the dollar also included the Korean won (3.39%) and the Israeli shekel (3.07%).
