Hodeida - Saba:
Dr. Radwan Al-Ruba’i, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, and Abdullah Atifi, Governor of Al-Hodeida, inaugurated on Monday a project to address flood damage , protect villages and agricultural lands in Tihama.
During the launch, Minister Al-Ruba’i stated that the project comes in response to the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyid Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, and the instructions of the President of the Supreme Political Council, as part of the government’s Change and Development Program. He emphasized that the project will contribute to proactive measures to safeguard villages and farmlands from flood damage during the current rainy season.
The minister stressed the importance of activating community initiatives for floodwater harvesting by constructing barriers and utilizing the water to expand the cultivation of grains and legumes.
Meanwhile, Governor Atifi praised the ongoing efforts to mitigate flood damage, which will help protect villages and agricultural lands from flood risks. He urged the mobilization of resources and unified teamwork to address potential impacts of the rainy season, reaffirming the leadership’s commitment to minimizing damage and reducing threats.
