Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting in Sana'a on Monday, chaired by the Director-General of Traffic Police, Major General Dr. Bakil Al-Barashi, evaluated the level of traffic performance over the past period.
The meeting included traffic leaders from the capital secretariat, regions, and traffic departments.
The session reviewed the challenges facing traffic operations in the capital and proposed solutions, as well as the key directions of the traffic plan for Eid al-Adha. Emphasis was placed on the need for traffic officers to remain disciplined at their posts to provide optimal traffic services.
During the meeting, the Director-General of Traffic Police stressed the importance of officers dealing courteously with citizens and preventing any violations in this regard. He highlighted the necessity for traffic control personnel and capital traffic officers to undergo specialized and qualifying courses in advanced road-user interaction techniques.
He also directed fundamental changes and job rotations in several traffic departments within the capital to enhance performance and improve road safety. He urged combined efforts, teamwork, courteous interaction with citizens, and avoiding randomness in traffic operations.
Dr. Al-Barashi emphasized redistributing personnel and resources, implementing longitudinal parking on all streets to reduce congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow. He also called for strengthening coordination with relevant authorities to elevate traffic performance.
