Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that Iran is studying the proposals and solutions presented by the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman during the fifth round of indirect Iran-US negotiations.
Iranian News Agency (IRNA) quoted Araghchi as saying in a press statement on the sidelines of his participation in Africa Day 2025 held in Tehran, "Iran is studying the proposals presented by the Sultanate of Oman during the fifth session to remove obstacles in indirect negotiations with the United States."
Regarding Iran's relations with the African continent, Araghchi said: "As I said on the day of the vote of confidence in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Africa is one of our foreign policy priorities, along with our neighbors and friendly countries since ancient times. Our next priorities after Africa are Latin America and East Asia, and we have made great efforts to expand relations with African countries."
Araghchi added: "We recently held a meeting, and the level of participation from African countries was good. Today, we celebrated Africa Day in cooperation with the African embassies in Tehran." We will work to strengthen our embassies in African countries, add more countries to our list of embassies, and further expand our communications.
