The fourth and final round of municipal and mayoral elections began today, Saturday, in the southern and Nabatieh governorates of Lebanon, with ballot boxes opening at polling stations starting at 7:00 a.m.
According to the official Lebanese National News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun toured the operations room at the Sidon Serail in the south of the country, where he held a meeting with senior security leaders, in the presence of the Ministers of Interior and Defense and the Governor of the South.
From the operations room, Aoun stressed the importance of high voter turnout to choose candidates who represent local development. He stated that "these elections have a developmental nature and prove that the will to live outweighs the will to die, and the will to build is stronger than destruction."
He also praised the performance of the security services and their meticulous monitoring to ensure the success of the electoral process.
