Hilal Hodeida's hopes of qualifying for the First Division Basketball League were dashed after losing to their rival Sha'ab Ibb due to a "forfeit" in today's match, held at Al-Ahli Club Hall in Sana'a.

This was the second match in the final stage of the Second Division League within Group One (Sana'a cluster).

Hilal entered the match with slim chances of securing a promotion ticket after losing their previous game on Wednesday against the May 22 team.

While the match initially saw Sha'ab Ibb leading 7–0 in the first period, the head referee, Abdullah Mashwara, declared the game ended by forfeit after Hilal was left with only two players on the court, as the rest had fouled out.

The Group One (Sana'a cluster) matches will conclude the day after tomorrow, on Saturday, with the decisive match that will determine the team advancing to the First Division. This match will feature May 22 and Sha'ab Ibb.
