The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, and undersecretary, Dr. Nasher Al-Qaoud, inspected a number of health facilities in Taiz Governorate.
Dr. Shaiban and Dr. Al-Qaoud, accompanied by the Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Mohammed Al-Khaled, reviewed the level of medical services provided to patients at the Military Hospital in Al-Hawban and heard from the hospital director, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ezzi, an explanation of the nature of medical and health services and future plans for their development.
The Minister of Health and his deputy emphasized the importance of continuing to improve and develop the hospital's infrastructure and medical equipment to ensure the provision of the best medical services to patients. They praised the efforts of the hospital's leadership and staff in improving services, especially in light of the current circumstances facing the country.
Dr. Ali Shaiban, Dr. Nasher Al-Qaoud, and Major General Al-Khaled also inspected the departments and clinics of Al-Barh Rural Hospital in Maqbanah District and heard an explanation of the hospital's most important needs for equipment, medical supplies, and medications, as well as the challenges facing its work.
The Minister of Health praised the level of performance and efforts made by the health staff in the district's various facilities, particularly the rural hospital staff. He noted that the visit aimed to review the level of medical services and improve the infrastructure.
Health undersecretary stated that one of the Ministry's priorities is to support hospitals in rural areas that have been deprived of health services for decades. He praised the steadfastness of the hospital's staff and workers and their continued provision of medical services to patients.
The visitors also reviewed the progress of work at the Hajdah Central Hospital in the district, listening to an explanation from the hospital's leadership and staff about the difficulties facing the hospital and its needs, given that it serves more than one district.
The Minister of Health and his Deputy emphasized their commitment to improving and enhancing services and working to provide all medical equipment and personnel within available resources. They emphasized the importance of training medical personnel to enhance the medical services provided to citizens.
The Minister of Health and Environment, his Deputy, and the Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region also visited Al-Nasr Shamir Rural Hospital in Saqm and heard an explanation about the updates, needs, and challenges facing the hospital's work.
The Minister of Health and his Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ministry's priority is to focus on hospitals in rural areas. They explained that the visit to Taiz Governorate aimed to closely examine the improvements in infrastructure and achievements of rural hospitals, enhance services, and improve primary healthcare services to alleviate citizens' suffering from the hardship of traveling to provincial capitals for treatment.
Dr. Shaiban and Dr. Al-Qaoud explained that there is a demand for and a need for services in remote areas, most of which are experiencing significant displacement. They noted that the Ministry will work with local authorities to expand hospitals, improve services, and provide specialists.
They praised the efforts and resilience of hospital staff and their efforts to improve the health situation and alleviate citizens' suffering.
They were accompanied during the visits by the Director of the Health and Environment Office in the Governorate, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakil.
