Al-Bayda - Saba:
The 64th free medical camp for eye care, organized by the Health Care Association for Affected Communities and funded by the General Zakat Authority, concluded today at Al-Thawra General Hospital in Al-Bayda Governorate.
During the closing ceremony, the hospital director, Dr. Nasser Al-Ajili, explained that 1,600 cases were received and provided with examination, diagnostic, and treatment services, along with free medication distribution, in addition to surgical operations.
He called on organizations working in the health sector, as well as philanthropists and businessmen, to contribute to establishing such medical camps, which significantly alleviate the suffering of patients amid the repercussions of aggression and blockade. He praised the efforts of the Health Care Association for Affected Communities in organizing the camp and the support of the General Zakat Authority.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, head of the Health Care Association for Affected Communities, stated that 212 surgeries were performed during the camp, including cataract operations, pterygium removal, lipoma excisions, and others.
He emphasized that the camp was part of efforts to promote social solidarity and aid for the most impoverished and vulnerable groups, commending the humanitarian role of the General Zakat Authority and its support for the medical camp.
