Sana’a - Saba:
A specialized training course on the fundamentals of customs inspection commenced today at the Cultural Customs Institute of the Customs Authority, as part of a program to enhance institutional performance and develop the technical capabilities of field personnel.
The 25-day course aims to equip 30 trainees from various customs ports and centers with advanced skills and knowledge in inspection and proper classification of goods, contributing to improved efficiency and enhanced field operations.
During the opening ceremony, Faisal Al-Thawab, Director of the Cultural Customs Institute, explained that the course includes both theoretical and practical training in a dedicated lab set up for participants.
He noted that the training content focuses on technical classification skills for various types of goods.
Meanwhile, Abdulkarim Al-Mansoor, Advisor to the Head of the Customs Authority, emphasized that inspection procedures are based on established laws, regulations, and reference standards, aiming to determine the accurate value and proper tariff classification of goods. This contributes to generating precise statistics that inform the state’s economic policies.
