Gaza – Saba:
Dr. Mohammed Zaqout, Director General of Hospitals at the Gaza Ministry of Health, stated that the systematic measures taken by the Zionist enemy against hospitals make it impossible to continue providing medical care to the wounded and sick.
In an interview with Al Jazeera News, he added that the enemy's practices have forced major hospitals out of service.
He continued: "The Zionist enemy deliberately commits direct killings of the wounded by preventing their access to hospitals and by directly targeting patients, the injured, and medical staff inside hospitals."
He further explained: "Occupation drones opened direct fire on the intensive care unit at the Indonesian Hospital," noting that four cases were being monitored in the ICU, with two patients in critical need of intensive care who can no longer receive the necessary treatment.
He said: "Al-Awda Hospital was hit by shells and drone fire, endangering the lives of patients, the wounded, and medical teams."
He added: "The European Gaza Hospital was bombed with 14 missiles, destroying its infrastructure and oxygen lines, complicating any chances of resuming operations."* He clarified that the occupation continues to block the entry of medical delegations that could assist in performing specialized and complex surgeries for the wounded.
He mentioned that intensive care units, operating rooms, and emergency departments are functioning under catastrophic conditions due to the shortage of life-saving medicines and medical supplies.
He stated that the blockade on food supplies and the spread of famine have led to the deaths of 57 children, with cases of weakened immunity and chronic diarrhea recorded among children.
He renewed "an urgent appeal to all relevant parties to intervene and prevent further deterioration of the health and humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip."
