Gaza - Saba:
A Palestinian resistance security source revealed last night that advanced cameras deployed by the Israeli occupation army around the Netzarim checkpoint were being used with facial recognition technology as a "tool for field executions and arrests."
The source said in a statement reported by the Al-Hares platform that "the cameras overlook Rashid Street as part of an intelligence operation to impose strict surveillance on the movement of passersby."
He explained that the enemy army "did not leave Rashid Street open for no reason, but rather as a trap to besiege people and implement its plans."
He emphasized that "the targeting includes resistance fighters, those with relatives in the resistance, and those who previously provided support or assistance."
The source emphasized that "civilians are being arrested, tortured, and interrogated to uncover information about the resistance."
He explained that "the Netzarim checkpoint is a testing point that exposes the enemy to espionage, and the resistance has identified cases linked to the enemy during the displacement."
He warned that "any mass movement southward, especially through Netzarim, is a trap that could end in field executions, arrests, or a security breach."
For nearly ten weeks, the Israeli authorities have prevented the entry of any supplies into the Gaza Strip, leading to the closure of bakeries, community kitchens, and charitable organizations. Meanwhile, international organizations operating in the Strip have announced that their warehouses have run out of basic food supplies and baby formula.
The Israeli occupation resumed its aggression and tightened blockade of the Gaza Strip at dawn on March 18, 2025, after a two-month pause under a ceasefire agreement that went into effect on January 19. However, the occupation violated the terms of the agreement throughout the truce period.
