Occupied Quds - Saba:
Al-Quds Governorate stated on Monday that the Zionist occupation authorities carried out 34 demolition and land-leveling operations in the city and arrested 58 Palestinians during April.
In a report published today, the Governorate noted that the demolitions included five cases of forced self-demolition, where Jerusalemites were compelled to tear down their own houses to avoid heavy fines, along with 25 demolitions forcibly carried out by occupation machinery. Additionally, four land-leveling operations targeted Palestinian properties and streets under the pretext of unlicensed construction.
During April, the Al-Quds Governorate documented 31 attacks by settlers, including two involving physical assault, reflecting a dangerous escalation in settler violence against Palestinian citizens, their property, and holy sites.
The report also highlighted that around 45 injuries were recorded due to live fire, rubber-coated metal bullets, and severe beatings, as well as cases of gas inhalation—including two injuries resulting from settler attacks.
In April, 10,111 settlers, under the protection of occupation forces, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, conducted provocative tours, and performed Talmudic rituals in various areas, constituting a direct violation of the sanctity of the holy site.
Al-Quds Governorate reported the arrest of 58 Palestinians, including three women and five children. Occupation courts issued unjust rulings against the detainees, including actual prison sentences, house arrests, deportations, and exorbitant fines.
The report documented 27 actual prison sentences against Palestinian detainees, 11 of which were administrative detention orders—imprisonment without formal charges.
Last month, the occupation authorities issued four house arrest orders and 13 deportation orders against Palestinians, including six bans from Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Quds Governorate also noted the continued intensification of settlement activity in Al-Quds, tracking seven new settlement plans through official announcements by the occupation municipality. These plans are in various stages, from submission to approval and tenders.
In April, three settlement plans in Al-Quds were approved, and a tender was announced to develop public spaces, a park, and swimming pools in the Gilo settlement.
On April 8, several occupation ministers and rabbis inaugurated a new settlement project aimed at demolishing 95 Palestinian houses in western occupied Al-Quds, paving the way for 392 new settlement units in the same area.
