The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Israeli officials warned on Thursday that expanding the military operation in Gaza could endanger Israeli prisoners.
The newspaper stated, "Israeli security officials warned that expanding the military operation in Gaza could increase the risk to prisoners and lead to the deaths of many soldiers."
It added, "Estimates suggest that a number of officers and soldiers may refuse to join the next phase if the operation is expanded."
Earlier on Thursday, Hebrew media reported that the enemy's government would discuss expanding the war on Gaza in an upcoming meeting next Sunday.
Moriah Asraf, a correspondent for Channel 13, said, "Israeli government ministers have been notified of a meeting on Sunday to discuss the issue of expanding the war on Gaza Strip."
